I really really wish there was a yarn studio in town here.  Because Wal-Mart just isn’t really cutting it for my wants & needs concerning knitting.  But, seeing as how that’s all I’ve got and the yarn I really covet is far away and won’t be a place I’ll be visiting ’til next month, I’m going to suck it up.  Plus I want to run a trial of my newest project before I drop $50 on classy yarn.

I love knitted wraps.  Last time I was visiting family, I went to this funky little shop (O’Day Cache) and bought a silk wrap that is a softly vibrant yellow and green with tassels at the end.  It’s soft and gorgeous and I wish I could wear it every day.  But it’s a little too dressy to lounge around the house with a 2 year old.  I’ve been wanting to knit a lacy shawl for awhile now but haven’t found a lace pattern that speaks to me.

Thankfully a quick google search and perusing through recommended lacy patterns, I came across this.  It’s from the AntiCraft and I’m in love with it.  The only changes I’ll be making is the size of the needles (because the largest needles I came across were US 17) and the color of yarn plus I don’t do tassels.  At least I won’t be doing tassels on an every day garment with two playful kittens around.  Well, they aren’t really kittens anymore either, but you know what I mean.  They’re the kind of cats that see dangly strands and attack it.  Even if they’re attached to the bottom of your pants and they end up leaving scratch marks all the way down your leg.  So my wrap will be a powder blue and a navy blue mix.

Later today when the little guy is napping and the laundry is all put away I will cast on and begin my new adventure!
