And it makes sense the more I think about it. The green yarn is linen like. It’s Shine Sport, color grass, 60% Pima Cotton and 40% Modal. Because I only ordered 2 skeins of it (for a grand total of 220 yards), I’ve decided to pair it with the white cotton yarn I bought from Wal-Mart to knit up a blanket. The blanket will alternate herringbone squares with st st squares. I’m still undecided about which herringbone pattern to use. There’s a cute one at Vogue Knitting that I like a lot, but then there’s an easier one I’ve found on an online stitch dictionary, but I don’t know if I like it as much. Oh my goodness, where will I find the time to knit all of this PLUS be involved in the KAL/CAL?

I am so excited!!!! Today I got my yarn from KnitPicks and I can’t wait to start knitting with it. Originally I was going to use this purple for a blanket, but I’ve changed my mind and have decided to knit a shawl with it instead. I think I will use the same pattern that my purse (the one from Lion Brand) is knitted in because I think that’ll look awesome as a shawl. The yarn is Gloss Lace, 70% Merino Wool and 30% silk, the color is raisin and it’s from KnitPicks!

It’s my first ever KALCAL and I’m excited! I’ve got all kinds of ideas rumbling in my head, so I’m super pumped to put them onto needles and get going! What the heck is a KAL/CAL? Well, I asked myself that very same question when I heard about it on Marly’s podcast, The Yarn Thing. Simply, a knit/crochet along with tons of other people! With prizes! Wish me luck.
