About a year ago, maybe even two, I decided I wanted to learn how to crochet and then knit. My mom is more of a cross stitch kinda gal, but has knitted and crocheted some fabulous pieces as well. Plus I have this habit of finding amazing sweaters and then silently thinking to myself “I could knit that” knowing full well that I don’t have the ability to knit it, but the want is there. Honestly my first few attempts at knitting and crocheting were all crap. Big pieces of ugly crap. I even gave it up for a bit to give myself some breathing space and recollect my energy. Finally, about a month ago, I took it back up. The sweater tank I had chosen as my first project was a bad idea. Me, a beginner, knitting with circular needles? Right. Like I said, bad choice. I settled on a pattern I found online at Lion Brand Yarn and began with gusto. From there I taught myself how to purl, do cable stitches, seam sides, and be patient with myself.
So, the reason for this blog is to have a place to write down my projects, where I’m at, what I’ve finished, what I feel frustrated with (a lot probably) and then pictures of completed projects. Most everything I knit will be from a free pattern I’ve found online and I will be sure to post links to each pattern.
