I lied June 21, 2008

Mostly about what pattern I was going to use on my new purse.  And that was only because our printer decided it didn’t want to work and I didn’t feel like writing it down.  Then I thought I could do a basic knit/purl ribbing for a purse.  But then I was bored.  So I decided to tackle the basic tiny herringbone pattern found at Vogue Knitting.

Now while it isn’t necessarily kicking my ass, my fingers hurt and I don’t know if I want to do it anymore.  Yes, I know I sound like a quitter, but I like my knitting enjoyable and fun!  Not harsh and beastly.  I think I will give it a few more rows before I decide to scrap it or not.  Plus hopefully with some more rows I will become more adept at doing the right and left twist.

Today I feels like it’ll be one of those evenings where all I want to do is pop in a movie and knit.  But I’m not so sure that’ll happen.  People will probably come over to play games and drink beers and no knitting will get done.  But first we’ll eat and then we’ll see.

Another project June 21, 2008

While I’m enjoying knitting my first sweater, I’ve decided to start another project to keep me occupied while sitting out on the deck in this 80 degree weather.  I don’t know about you, but knitting a sweater in the beginning of summer on a hotter than hell day, just isn’t my cup of tea.  So I’m going to sip on an ice cold beer and knit another purse for myself.  It isn’t that I don’t love the first purse I knitted, but this second one is going to be bigger and in a different stitch.  The stitch is something very simple and can be found here at Vogue Knitting. I’m going to use up this soft gray yarn I have to knit up the purse.  The needles will probably be US 4 or 6, depending on which ones I pick up first.  Then maybe tomorrow if the boy go golfing I may go back to work on my sweater.
